Hi there, I’m Alex, the latest addition to the crew aboard the good ship Geollect.

I’m very excited to have joined Geollect as a Data Scientist. I am especially looking forward to working for a great company that is not only making a real impact on the global stage but also understands the unique skillsets veterans like myself have.

Prior to joining Geollect, I spent 14  years in the Royal Navy; many of them as a rotary wing aerospace engineer, but latterly developing and honing my data science skills working with aviation and maritime data in a data science capacity.

For the projects I have worked on thus far, I have applied my maritime and aviation subject matter expertise and scientific programming skills (specifically using Python) to reduce operating costs, increase asset availability, and identify risks and opportunities borne through better data utilisation.

You’d think I’d be really keen about helicopters but I actually think tanks are much more interesting…
