Co-Founder / CEO
Catherine Gwilliam is a Geospatial Intelligence Specialist with vast experience across multiple US government and commercial sectors. She has served in the US Intelligence Community with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as a specialist embedded within the US Secret Service, US Navy Central Command and US Department of Homeland Security.
She provided geospatial products in support of top level protective operations, military and diplomatic operations, disaster relief operations and critical infrastructure protection missions. Many of her production outputs are still used in US government workflows and they set the benchmark for all geospatial products in those specific mission areas.
Catherine is now resident in the UK and applying her geospatial expertise in various commercial sectors with great success.
Co-Founder / COO
Richard Gwilliam is a highly experienced ex-Royal Navy intelligence officer. He has worked with a multitude of cross government agencies within the international intelligence community at all levels from the strategic to the tactical level.
Within the UK he has advised the UK government at the highest level within COBR.
Internationally, he has worked within coalition headquarters leading multinational intelligence teams in counter piracy and counter drug operations in the Middle East, East Africa and the Indian Ocean.
Richard fused geospatial and multi-disciplined Intelligence products to help dramatically reduce piracy in and around the Horn of Africa and successfully interdict illicit drug shipments.
Gregory Scovel served for more than 31 years in the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), reaching the pinnacle position of NCIS Acting Director. During his time he produced a significant record of exemplary successes in the areas of counterintelligence (CI), combating terrorism, law enforcement, cyber operations, risk assessments and threat analysis. He was an Executive with CACI Inc. for over 5 years, responsible for the Federal - Civilian defensive cyber practice, with a focus on malware analysis, computer network defense (CND), computer forensics and insider threat. He maintains a deep global network of professional relationships with US and allied intelligence, counterintelligence, cyber and law enforcement communities, which provides Geollect with a wealth of diverse skills and talent from which to create specialist teams. He is a former trusted advisor to senior executives in the Office of Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Navy and to both the Chief of Naval Operations and the Commandant of the USMC in the United States. He was also a Member of the NCIS Executive Staff from 2001 to 2010, with over seven years in the Senior Executive Service (SES) - instrumental in the transformation of NCIS from a reactive to a proactive and progressive agency.

Head of Intelligence
James is a highly experienced ex-Royal Navy intelligence officer and professional services consultant. Initially a bridge officer, he also commanded counter-piracy boarding teams off the coast of Somalia prior to specialising in intelligence. James fulfilled a broad array of maritime and land forces intelligence roles worldwide, with particular focus on geospatial intelligence and strategic geo-politics. He worked in a diplomatic role as the principle intelligence adviser to the British Ambassador to NATO, and as the UK's committee representative negotiating on behalf of his country.
Other roles have included working with the US Intelligence community including the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, National Ground Intelligence Center, and serving on exchange to the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade of the US Army. After leaving the military James worked for a 'big four' professional services firm, providing technical project and programme management expertise to clients.
Dr. Ryan Lloyd
Head of Data Science
Ryan’s work as a Geospatial Intelligence Officer is a mix of data science and model development.
His current responsibilities include building a framework for statistical and intelligence driven analysis, which, for example, can be applied to quantifying and understanding the risks associated with maritime crime.
Ryan has a PhD in geophysics and remote sensing, for which he applied cutting-edge analytical modelling and statistical analysis techniques to satellite based remote sensing datasets.
He definitely doesn’t wear slippers in the office.
Head of Geospatial Development
After having specialised in Remote sensing and GIS at university, Will brings a blend of specific, scientific knowledge and skills with user-friendly visualisation and communication.
He has led the development and implementation of intelligence products, services and servers for many of Geollect’s clients and delivered technical talks across the globe.
A seaside boy at heart, Will still prefers nothing more than a wintery morning swim in the sea and long dog walks across the Dorset coastline.
Kathryn hails from the realm of geophysics and geological hazard research, and thrives on data wrangling.
Her extensive field experience has afforded her invaluable insight into the potential of data capture, and firmly believes that creativity is integral to achieving innovative data solutions.
Since joining Geollect she has driven a brand new automated global equipment monitoring service that automates physical analysis of disparate data sources.
Her passions in life include aerial dance, making the world better, and sandwiches.
Josh joined Geollect in October 2019. He has previously worked in both the utilities and the energy sector before completing an MSc in Applied GIS and Remote Sensing.
Josh is particularly interested in novel methods to analyse, interpret and visualise geographic data, as well as how developments in technology will impact the industry.
In his spare time Josh enjoys playing tennis and exploring Bristol’s bustling food scene.
Daniel joined Geollect Oct 2019 straight from the Royal Navy, where he served for six years as an Hydrographer and Intelligence imagery analyst in National Centre for Geospatial intelligence in RAF Wyton.
He has MSc in GIS and BSc in Marine Biology.
Daniel brings a breadth of experience in remote sensing and intelligence reporting to the Geollect team.
He is a passionate scuba diver and hiker.
Claire Donnelly initially joined Geollect from Bristol University as part of the National Productivity Investment fund initiative as an intern in Aug 2019. She is currently working towards the completion of her PhD in Ice flow Mechanics. Claire rapidly became an integral part of the data science team, her input has been instrumental in development of the Geollect vessel tracking and dark shipping products.
Claire has now joined the Geollect team as an employee initially on a part time basis, whilst she completes her PhD and learns to follow simple requests.
Claire is a keen runner and cross country skier in her spare time.

Business and Brand Strategist
Max is a business strategist specialising in Brand and Digital Marketing communications. Clients he has advised include Home Office, Virgin Group PLC, J Sainsbury PLC, The Economist Intelligence Unit and Amazon. He was a founding director and shareholder of Regional Express, an international Freight and logistics provider, which supplied Humanitarian logistics support for United Nations relief programmes worldwide as well as for The Ministry of Defence. The business was sold to Xpediator PLC in 2017. He was subsequently retained to work as an outside advisor to the PLC as well as continuing to provide marketing and brand advice for Xpediator and Regional Express.
His work has featured regularly on the BBC and his passions include classical music, vegetable gardening in the South West of England countryside and walking 3 idiotic and unruly dogs.
Georgina is an experienced Digital Marketing Professional and an official certified Google Partner specialising in Google Analytics, Advanced search and Social Media marketing campaigns, working for major British organisations. She has Directed and Managed Award-Winning digital projects, which have been archived by the British Museum as ‘websites of significant importance.’ She was also the Digital and Technology Director of Global Logistics Company, Regional Express, of which she was one of the five founders and shareholders. Regional Express supplied Humanitarian logistics support for United Nations relief programmes worldwide as well as The Ministry of Defence and is an approved supplier of Freight services to Amazon Global Selling reporting to its headquarters in Seattle, USA.
Her passion is a 20 year commitment, supporting and advising The Youth Cancer Trust.
