Geollect & scientific researchers to team up to investigate submarine volcanic eruptions, and its threat to shipping

European Space Agency – ESA

Geollect are proud to be engaging in cutting edge scientific research on this PhD project in collaboration with the University of Leeds and the National Oceanographic Centre. It’s an exciting project bringing together machine learning, cloud computing, satellite remote sensing data, and submarine volcanoes. Geollect are keen to understand the impact observing and understanding submarine eruptions has for shipping and maritime law.

Part of the studentship would involve a summer internship with Geollect to gain experience in the commercial sector, to understand how data can be commercialised, and apply expertise to complementary problems in marine remote sensing. This collaboration aligns with Geollect’s values to help develop talented individuals and remain at the cutting edge of methodological and data applications.
